Banana Reveals

an ongoing series

In 2018 a friend gifted to me a bright yellow carry case meant to transport bananas. In my view, this was an absurd but curious object and I had the idea to fill it with items other than bananas and video their unboxing. I started to post this footage to Instagram, and #bananareveal became an ongoing series. Many of the objects hidden in the banana did not make sound; I found the surprise of their visual reveal to be engaging enough. This is perhaps an example of the Silent Object.

I am grateful to my friends and colleagues for their ongoing interest in this project exhibited through verbal and written enthusiasm.
