PPE: Pete Protective Equipment

for one performer

I created PPE: Pete Protective Equipment (2020) in response to the rapidly changing situation around the world caused by the Coronavirus pandemic. The premiere performance took place at QCGU on 2 March 2020, and I remember wanting to make light of an otherwise serious situation. This work sees Pete and Pete managing an illness through the sounds of health-related objects. A yellow glove becomes a haz-mat suit; tissues provide rhythmic relief. PPE: Pete Protective Equipment is a reflection of current events through the perspective of the uncanny.
